There are ZERO contradictions - only repeated, wanton HEARSAY (lots of scrappy and senseless copy and pastes), among many liars and ignorant people looking for lies, that "contradictions" exist - so that they feel "free" to violate the Bible's MORAL laws (a poll would show that, if people answered honestly). The contradictions are ALWAYS cleared up when the questioner is showed more information - but those same persons usually have next-to-zero attention span for listening to truth - they have other desires and agendas, usually involving immorality or other serious sins that they want to put first, over God; and so they seek to shut out and discredit those "nagging" words they know others speak of, in which God condemns those sins. That is usually the bottom line. The word of God has absolutely been preserved enough, through the ages, and world-over, to accurately convey every essential point that the Creator has purposed for mankind to know. The "big errors" don't exist - all of the lies that people have fabricated, so as to try to discredit God and His words, SO THAT "THEY DON'T HAVE TO OBEY THEM" are what the actual "fairytales" are........Why would persons write public trashy remarks against God , and against the words he left here AS HIS OWN INSTRUCTIONS FOR LIVING, HIS OWN TERMS OF WORSHIP, DIVINE WISDOM OF ESSENTIAL VITAL ISSUES, and the SURVIVAL GUIDE FOR MANKIND, for CONTINUED LIFE.......As for the tree.....the Creator is wise enough to know that it is His RIGHT and is for the good of everyone, that His Sovereignty - over all of the universe, the creation, and all of the sentient beings He has also made - be honored and respected, that HE ALONE BE CONTINUALLY REGARDED AS GOD, which He truly is. HE IS PERFECTLY IN THE RIGHT, TO EXPECT HIS CREATION TO OBEY HIM ; TO NOT BE INSOLENT TOWARDS HIM, TO BE GRATEFUL TOWARDS HIM, and to NOT RUIN ANY OF THE REST OF HIS VALUABLE CREATION, OR INTERFERE WITH/ VIOLATE HIS IMPORTANT PURPOSES and WILL. So, that ONE TREE, in all of rest of a lush garden filled with other trees; was left there as *a REMINDER TO OBEY GOD, to RESPECT HIS GODSHIP* - that to fail to do so would be wrong, and would bring death. Adam and Eve were warned in advance of this natural requirement upon them - that they NEEDED to be obedient to God, and that it would bring death if they did not obey Him. The tree served as a reminder to this; and at the same time, it gave Adam and Eve a way to demonstrate and affirm their willingness to worship and obey God - to uphold His commands, and THEIR RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM. Consider - today, we can go to museums, etc,. where the idea is understood - YOU CAN LOOK, BUT YOU CAN'T TOUCH. Out of respect for maker and provider of the valuable object - and also understanding that someone can call "security", etc., most persons respectfully don't touch whatever it is, and all is peaceful. AND IT REMAINS THE SAME - GOD HASN'T CHANGED, and HE IS TOTALLY IN THE RIGHT TO INSIST ON OBEDIENCE, from the ANGELS and HUMANS HE HAS CREATED. HIS CREATED BEINGS OWE THAT TO HIM - period. Even better, however, is understanding that God IS GOOD, and wants to do loving and wonderful things for HIS human children. God's asking for obedience and respect was NOT asking too much of Adam and Eve; just as He is NOT asking too much, for people to obey His scriptural words (including His moral standards) today. Additionally, the possibility of rebellion exists with free will (when it is abused). What happened with the incident in Eden is being used to teach a thorough, once-for-all-time LESSON, to all of God's sentient creation, of what happens when God's created angels and/or humans rebel against Him, and wish to claim "independence" from God. It was SATAN who brought up the challenge, and it did cause the first two humans to rebel against their own Maker. Jah does not want endless, miserable, random pop-up rebellion - or a plague of rebellion, to keep on messing up His Creation, throughout eternity; hurting Him, and hurting the good and loving humans who are loyal, true, and generally obedient to Him. ITS BEEN CLEAR, FOR A LONG TIME NOW, WHO WAS RIGHT IN THIS ISSUE: Mankind never belonged rebelling against the Creator. Rebellion against God did not bring a better life, Satan was/ is a liar. People need to obey God; people need to reject lies and that which God's own words condemn. People living now need to hurry and "repent and turn around" (Acts 3:19); and start learning scriptural truth, so as to obey it. Knowing and obeying God's whole-scriptural truth will soon mean life or death to everyone, from God, on God's Armageddon Day. (John 4:24; 17:3,17)
