Danish Jehovah’s Witness Arrested and Jailed in Russia After Police Raid a Christian Meeting

NEW YORK—In the wake of the April 20, 2017, decision of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation against Jehovah’s Witnesses, a Danish citizen was arrested along with Russian citizens at a peaceful worship service disrupted by a police raid on the evening of May 25, 2017.

At least 15 heavily armed police and Federal Security Service (FSB) officers raided a peaceful religious service of Jehovah’s Witnesses in the city of Oryol (also known as Orel), pictured above. The police collected copies of the identification documents of all in attendance and seized their electronic devices. The FSB also took into custody Dennis Christensen, one of Jehovah’s Witnesses who is a Danish citizen. Shortly thereafter, police officers searched four homes of Jehovah’s Witnesses located throughout the city.

After being detained overnight in FSB custody, today, the Soviet District Court of Oryol granted the application of the FSB and ordered Mr. Christensen to be jailed in pretrial detention pending completion of the FSB criminal investigation. Mr. Christensen is the first foreigner to be included in these official actions against Jehovah’s Witnesses in Russia since the Russia Supreme Court decision. If convicted, Mr. Christensen faces the possibility of a lengthy term of imprisonment.

This raid is the latest of over 40 incidents of aggression against Jehovah’s Witnesses perpetrated by authorities and others after the Russian Supreme Court labelled them as extremists and liquidated the Witnesses’ Administrative Center in Russia along with 395 Local Religious Organizations they used throughout the country.

Just hours after the Supreme Court issued its decision on April 20, a group of men in St. Petersburg vandalized the largest place of worship used by Jehovah’s Witnesses in Russia, even threatening the worshippers. Vandals have also targeted other places of worship and even homes of Witnesses in Kaliningrad, Moscow, Penza, Rostov, St. Petersburg, Sverdlovsk, Voronezh, and Krasnoyarsk. In one incident, on May 24, 2017, in the town of Zheshart in the Komi Republic, a house where meetings of Jehovah’s Witnesses used to be held was badly damaged in an arson attack. In addition to police raids and vandalism, individual Witnesses have been attacked, threatened at school and work, or lost their jobs.

David A. Semonian, a spokesman at the Witnesses’ world headquarters, states: “Jehovah’s Witnesses around the world are now even more concerned about our fellow worshippers in Russia. These disturbing events are clearly aftereffects of the Russian Supreme Court’s unjust decision against us. We have formally appealed this decision on May 19, 2017. This will give Russia another opportunity to end these unwarranted and unjustifiable actions against Jehovah’s Witnesses. We are also filing a complaint against the unjust imprisonment of our fellow worshipper, Dennis Christensen.”

Welcome to the End of the End of the World?

This is extraordinarily creepy. It is demonic and idolatrous in nature. There is a tremendous difference between "extremist ideology" - a HIGHLY EXPLOITABLE term - already being INTENTIONALLY MISAPPLIED to unjustly persecute, ban, and otherwise violate the human rights of innocent and NON-VIOLENT [by Bible principles, weapon-less and conscientious objector to war] Jehovah's Witnesses in Russia and elsewhere - and "VIOLENT EXTREMISM", which has been the less-exploitable term more rightly used by the UN, so far. The "immense image" of Daniel 2:31-:45 represented a march of dominating world powers, independent of Jehovah's Kingdom, which also had particular effects upon Jehovah's people - 

The head, of gold: Babylon of Old 

The breasts and arms of silver: Medio-Persia 

The copper belly and thighs: Greece 

The legs of iron: The Roman empire and its political outgrowth - INCLUDING THE ANGLO-AMERICAN EMPIRE THE FEET AND TOES, of IRON MIXED WITH CLAY: The post WWI POLITICALLY DIVIDED WORLD, still including the "IRON" of Rome and its outgrowths, as well as the Anglo-American power; but also other distinct governments - nations and groups of them, instead of empires - including HARD, AUTHORITARIAN and TYRANNICAL ONES.........AND ALL OF THESE MIXED WITH SOFTER, "POWER OF THE PEOPLE" CLAY. 

The IRON pieces AND THE CLAY CANNOT HOLD WELL TOGETHER - and SO WHAT HAS BUILT UP, OVER TIME, OF HUMAN GOVERNMENTS, APART FROM GOD, CAN NOW NO LONGER SUPPORT ITSELF. 

The TEN TOES are also of the clay mottled with iron pieces. The "TEN" of them is a metaphor for earthly COMPLETION - the TEN toes represent ALL of the governments of men, completely. The ends of the toes ALSO MARK THE END OF THE LINE, in the succession of world powers, governments, and groupings of them. 

"MAN HAS DOMINATED MAN TO HIS INJURY."(Ecclesiastes 8:9) 

This has been a world system, with chosen independence from God, and for that, of course, men have failed. It has been Satan and his demons who have largely been influencing and manipulating the world's political, big-commercial, and FALSE religious systems. Satan has influenced most humans to follow HIM as ruler, rather than God. Thus, the very ungodly state of this violent, life-hostile, God-rebellious/insolent, immoral, grossly unjust, messed up, and failing world.

Like the FALSE-religio-political state of evil ancient Babylon, the kingdoms of men of this currently Satan-dominated world political system have had their days numbered (by God); and, altogether, "have been weighed in the balances and have been found deficient." (Daniel 5:26,27) 

It is beneath Jehovah's standards to see good people - especially his own, who are being increasingly mistreated by haters of God and His scriptural standards - suffer so much. 

So, as prophesied, here comes that metaphoric STONE, cut by God Himself, out of the "mountain" representing HIS Sovereignty - in such tremendous contrast to the failing sovereignties of men, independent of God. IT IS RUSHING THROUGH THE FIGURATIVE AIR, AND IS ABOUT TO STRIKE DOWN THE ENTIRE WORLD GOVERNMENTAL SYSTEM THAT NOW EXISTS - COME GOD'S ARMAGEDDON DAY. (DANIEL 2:44, 45; Revelation Chapter 19; Ezekiel Chapters 38 and 39; more.) Jehovah Himself (with His Son) will carry this out. 

THEN, ALL THE GOVERNMENTS OF THE WORLD THAT NOW EXIST WILL BE REPLACED WITH JEHOVAH'S OWN PROMISED, JUST and PERFECT, HEAVEN-BASED, TRUE "KINGDOM OF GOD", extended down from the heavens; and WILL BE EARTH'S ONLY RULERSHIP. Then, the human family here can thrive in actual TRUE [not mankind's FAKE version of] PEACE and security. "Thy Kingdom come, they will be done, on earth as it is in heaven." 

Again, the immense image is WOBBLING, on its SHAKY FEET; and here comes that LARGE ROCK FROM GOD - sailing, sailing........

"As regards that image, its head was of good gold, its breasts and its arms were of silver, its belly and its thighs were of copper, its legs were of iron, its feet were partly of iron and partly of molded clay. You kept on looking until a stone was cut out not by hands, and IT STRUCK THE IMAGE ON ITS FEET OF IRON AND OF MOLDED CLAY AND CRUSHED THEM. At that time the iron, the molded clay, the copper, the silver and the gold were, all together, crushed and became like the chaff from the summer threshing floor, and the wind carried them away so that no trace at all was found of them. And as for the stone that struck the image, IT BECAME A LARGE MOUNTAIN AND FILLED THE WHOLE EARTH." (Daniel 2:32-35)
